Privacy Policy for Drift Ballistics

Drift Ballistics (“the App”) provides simple, fast ballistic and wind-aware DOPE calculations. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Drift Ballistics is intentionally designed to collect as little information as possible.

1.1 Location Data (Used Only for Wind & Weather Lookup)

The App may request access to your device’s location. This is used only to:

Determine your approximate position
Request wind and weather data for that location
Generate DOPE and wind-hold calculations

Your location is not stored, not shared, and not used for tracking. You may disable location access at any time in your device settings. If disabled, you can manually enter a location instead.

1.2 Compass / Heading Data (On-Device Only)

If you enable Compass mode for wind angle calculations, the App reads your device’s compass heading to determine the direction you are facing relative to the wind. This data is:

Used only on-device to calculate the wind angle
Never stored
Never transmitted to any server or third party

Compass updates are only active while Compass mode is selected, and stop automatically when you switch modes or leave the screen.

1.3 No Personal Information Collected

The App does not collect or store:

Name
Email
Phone number
Address
Contacts
Photos
Identifiers
Usage analytics
Advertising data

The App does not require or support user accounts.

2. How Your Data Is Used

Drift Ballistics uses your location in real time to request weather and wind data from a third-party weather provider. The App does not store or transmit any personal data.

2.1 Weather API Requests

When retrieving wind data, the App sends:

Latitude
Longitude

to a third-party weather API (such as OpenWeather, Windy, or similar). These coordinates are used solely to return weather conditions for that point. The App does not send any personal identifiers with these requests.

3. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party weather services to retrieve wind and atmospheric data. These services may process the coordinates you provide. The App does not use:

Advertising networks
Analytics SDKs
Social media integrations
Tracking technologies

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any weather provider used by the App.

4. Data Storage

Drift Ballistics does not store personal data on servers. All ballistic profiles, rifle settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device. You may delete the App at any time to remove all locally stored data.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. No personal data is knowingly collected from children.

6. Security

Because the App does not collect or store personal information, the security risk is minimal. Weather API requests are transmitted over secure HTTPS connections.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated text will be included in a future version of the App.
